"For many years now I have been collecting pictures in which the background interests me, sometimes for purely formal and compositional reasons, at other times because [of] the type of location or subject matter or even some odd relationship that occurs between background and subject. Mostly I find them in newspapers and magazines and I cut and crop out the section of interest to me and pin it to my studio wall. I have never directly recreated or reproduced any of these found pictures, but have made images based on them. Recently I have become very interested in this collection of small clippings in and of themselves … Most of them include a small section of the figure that has been cut away. They have a shoulder, a hand or part of a face at the very edge, but because of the way I have cut them, the centre of the pictures, the place we are trained to look, is now empty."

Discovering The Wombats/Descubriendo a The Wombats

It was thanks to a VH1 commercial break that I discovered this band, there was this song I liked among the commercials, but I didn't get a clue about who sang it so I searched the lyrics of the little excerp of the song, and found it it was The Wombats. And this is one of my favourite songs:

Cute Socks for Nancy Dolls/Calcetines Cuquis para Nancys

When I started sewing with the sewing machine, the first dress I made for Nancy dolls was one called "Campestre" (Country Dress), a copy of an original model from the Nancy dresses official catalogue. These are some of the ones I've made so far:

Cuando empecé a coser a máquina, uno de los primeros vestidos que hicepara Nancy es uno llamado "Campestre", una réplica de un vestido original que parece en el catálogo oficial de vestidos de Nancy. Aquí podéis ver algunos de los que he hecho hasta ahora:

Problem was, if I wanted to made it the closer to the original, I had to figure out how to made socks as well. Aaaaaaaaaaand, I did, so here are some of the ones I made:

El problema era que el quería hacerlo lo más parecedo al original, y tuve que pensar cómo hacer para que tuvieran calcetines también. Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, lo conseguí, aquí tenéis algunos de los que les he hecho:

I've always loved drawing, and when I was 10, I drew my first self portrait, that unfortunately, I might have thrown out at the time. But just before turning 13, I draw myself again and I keep it as something very precious.

Siempre me ha encantado dibujar, y cuando tenía 10 años, me hice el primer autorretrato, que desgraciadamente debí de tirar a la basura en su momento. Sin embargo, justo después de cumplir los 13, me volví a dibujar, y conservo este dibujo como algo muy preciado.

A Walk by the Sea on Bike/Un Paseo junto al Mar en Bici

A couple of weeks ago I was biciclying by the sea and suddenly I had the idea of taking a picture, the sky was beautiful and it was already dusk. Looks like a photo by Robert Doisneau, huh? (yeah, in my dreams).
