Gustave Moreau, who belonged to the group of the symbolists, was a French painter who based his works mostly on mythology and biblical figures.
Romanticism, Impressionism, and Post Impressionism have always been my most loved three pictorial movements of all times, but as there are exceptions to everything, this is one of my favourite paintings. Being a lover of Greek art and mythology, how wouldn't I like this one? It represents beautifully Eurydice, the love of Orpheus, holding a lyra with his face, death after trying to recover Eurydice from the underworld. Just look at it, don't you feel how great art can be?
Gustave Moreau, que perteneció al grupo de los simbolistas, fue un pìntor Francés, que se basó mayormente en la mitología griega y en figuras de la biblia para sus obras.
El Romanticismo, el Impresionismo, y el Post Impresionismo siempre han sido mis tres moviemientos pictóricos preferidos, pero como hay excepciones para todo, éste cuadro es de mis preferidos. Dado que soy una amante de la cultura y mitología Griegas, ¿cómo no podría gustarme éste? Representa bellamente a Eurídice, al amor de orfeo, sosteniendo en sus manos una lira con la cabeza de Orfeo, que había muerto tras tratar de salvar a Eurídice del mundo submarino. Sólo echadle un vistazo, ¿no sentís cuán grande el arte puede llegar a ser?
